Postgraduate Program in Geography holds Inaugural Week

The Academic Master’s in Geography was approved by Capes in 2018 and began its activities in March 2019 with the Inaugural Week of the Postgraduate Program in Geography. The event took place from March 20th to 22nd and had the following program:

March 20th: opening with presentation of the Postgraduate program in the auditorium of the Central Library (BBT). Afterwards, there was an opening table that addressed the topic of Space-Time and Territory. Guests: Manoel Fernandes de Sousa Neto – Adjunct Professor at the University of São Paulo/ President of the Postgraduate Association in Geography – ANPEGE and Laurent Vidal – CNRS Delegation – École de Hautes Études, Université de La Rochelle – France. Mediator: Prof. Leonardo Civale – DGE.

March 21st: presentation of research by the Department of Geography (DGE) on Productions and appropriations of territory and Teaching geography, in the DGE seminar room. In the evening, a round table on Productions and Appropriations of the territory took place in the BBT auditorium. Guest: Carlos Walter do Porto Gonçalves – Department of Geography at Universidade Federal Fluminense. Mediator: Prof. Marilda Teles Maracci – DGE.

March 22nd: presentation of DGE research on Socio-environmental Issues and Dimensions of Nature, in the DGE seminar room. In the evening, the closing conference of the event that addressed the topic of Environmental and Territory Issues was held in the BBT auditorium. Guest: Dirce Maria Antunes Suertegaray – Visiting Professor at UFPB Professor at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul – UFRGS. Mediator: Prof. André Luiz Lopes de Faria – DGE.
